The magnificent algae consortium has 16 partners from 6 EU countries incl. 10 Small or Medium Sized enterprises, 3 Large Enterprises, 1 University and 2 Research and Technology Organisations.
Tasks
The partners tasks range from optimization of algae strains to enhance their productivity, development and optimization of processing technologies and the development of new products and applications for the target markets The work will be supported by techno-economic assessment, market development and LCA. The consortium comprises commercial partners in the entire value chain and in the 3 target sectors: food, feed and cosmetics.
Algades
Algades is a company dedicated to integral consultancy and management of projects on microalgae production, with specific knowledge on Techno-economic analysis. Algades is a Spin-off Company from the University of Cádiz and therefore, a team of ideas nurtured by a commitment to research and development.
AlgoSource
The AlgoSource group, a recognized world expert in microalgae, offers an end-to-end range of services, from production engineering through to value creation and the industrial development of microalgae. Its unique expertise encompasses all the processes involved in producing and transforming microalgae and guarantees the group’s industrial customers a global insight.
Allmicroalgae
At Allmicroalgae’s production facility, several microalgae species are cultivated in closed tubular systems or fermentation tanks, delivering high-quality biomass and a wide range of nutrients. The company is very active in R&D, being involved in three H2020 and two P2020 projects and collaborating with more than 30 Portuguese and 50 international institutions, which allows accomplishing its high-quality standards.
